Let me tell you about our

Guardian families give our dogs a loving, permanent home, and in return, we maintain breeding rights for a limited number of litters.

What Are The Requirements to Become A Guardian Home?

Guardian Homes must live within 90 miles of Townville, South Carolina own their home, and have a schedule that allows the dog plenty of companionship. Our dogs must live indoors and never be left outside unattended. Families also need reliable transportation to bring their dog to us for breeding appointments, health testing, and whelping as needed.

Guardian families agree to stay in regular contact, provide updates and photos, and bring their dog for evaluations during the first year. These requirements help ensure each dog thrives in a safe, loving home while participating in our breeding program.

How does it work?

Most dogs in our Guardian Home Program are females, though we occasionally place a male. Puppies typically go home around 8 weeks old. During the first year, Copper Creek Bernedoodles completes all required health and genetic testing to determine if the dog will enter our breeding program. If we choose not to breed her, we cover the cost of spaying/neutering and she remains your family pet.

When a Guardian female comes into heat, families must contact us right away. Her cycle lasts 14–21 days, and we will need access to her for breeding appointments. After she is bred, she stays with her Guardian family until one week before her due date, then returns to us to whelp and raise her puppies for about 5–6 weeks.

Guardian families are welcome to visit during this time and will receive regular photos, videos, and updates.
